This is me and my best friend. I love her more than you could ever know. She is, quite possibly, the exact opposite of me... however, we are similar in so many ways. So, my mom passed away June 28, 2008 of Melanoma. For my creative writing class, I wrote this poem:
I don't remember you from when I was young,
When I didn't have to worry and we had fun,
I went to you for advice I would need,
Or when the two of us would just sit and read.
You were always there for me,
But then I turned thirteen.
From then on it was a downhill battle,
And it felt like all my insides began to rattle,
I never thought it would happen,

I go to Jesus camp every summer. I know, I know, it sounds really lame, but it's not. I don't go for all the Bible and God stuff, really... I go for the people and the feeling I get there. There's this amazing feeling you get once you experience going to God Show (my conference). Everyone is just so happy and loving and accepting. I can honestly say that I love these people more than I can ever express. They are my family, and I wouldn't trade them for the world. <3
