You held me for the last time today and kissed my lips with that soft gentle kiss. My lips linger there longer then usual remembering, remembering the tenderness of your lips and the taste of your breathe, all these things that would have to last in my memory until you returned. I stood there alone in a crowd waving to you as you climbed on that bus. I did not shed a tear which was the hardest thing for me to do my love, but my last words to you were I PROMISE! I promise to be strong for you and not cry, no matter how hard that was for me, I promise to be honest, truthful and loyal, I promise to sleep on your side of the bed until you return, even after the scent of you no longer remains that way we can be that much closer, I promise to take care of Tonka (our 2 month old puppy, who misses you more everyday!) I promise not to dye my hair that color that you hate and made you say you would die if I did, I promise to email everyday, I promise to write you a letter and sent a picture to you through the mail every friday. I promise to keep your mom calm and go see her ever chance I can, I promise to believe in myself 100% and not give up on me! I promise to sent goody packages to you and your comrades, I promise to stand and pledge to the flag every chance to get, I promise to console the other girlfriends of soldiers that are around me and most importantly I promise to love you forever and a day!
I had to let what I love go, go so he could fight to keep us all safe! Sometimes you have to let someone you love go, and if its true love they come back home to you.
Fight hard my Marine and come home safe and fast to me, until then I will sleep in your t-shirts on your side of the bed with Tonka on my back! We love you!
love it
<3 I hope the deployment goes by fast and that he returns home soon, safe and sound! Deployments are hard, but keep your head up and stay strong! Stay busy! It helps the time pass!
