We all know someone who knows someone who is in the military these days. It is not to be forgotten how hard it is on our end to let them go in order to do what they must to protect and fight for us all.

~For My Soldier~
I don’t want you to go because I need you to stay
How can I protect you when you’re so many miles away
Am I suppose to understand this
How can I breathe
Knowing I may never see you after you leave
There is no “probably” or even” more than not”
Because the part that makes them wrong is the part that gets you shot
No one knows tomorrow, we only live today
So all I have for comfort is what I hear the others say
I love you more than anything as it will always be
I can’t go on without you so I pray you come back to me
You know I’ll be here waiting, through the days and night
Although it won’t be easy to stay strong against this fight
I pray to God for strength, patience, and truth
It’s going to take it all to support both me and you
I don’t want you to go, but I know that you can’t stay
So I put my faith in your brothers and begin counting the days
